Ceramic Water Filter Do It Yourself Gravity Drip Water Filtering Kit

This is the gravity drip type DIY Ceramic Water Filter Kit with an activated carbon core, a spigot, a filter sock that fits over the ceramic dome filter, and a large industrial 1-micron pre-filter bag (length varies from those pictured). You will need to provide 2 of your own plastic buckets (any 2 of the same size will do) and 2 lids, which you will need to get yourself .

Instructions for assembly can be found at this link: http://www.getpreparedstuff.com/FilterInstructions

For an inexpensive water filter kit these kits are wonderful, amazing, and so incredibly reasonably priced that everyone can (and I believe should) get one. This is a key thing for your family to be able to have plenty of clean water after your water storage runs out. The activated coconut carbon charcoal in the center does not have a shelf-life but when used has an adsorption limit at about 3,000 gallons (6-8 months of use). The carbon holds on to chemicals like heavy metals, chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, etc. Of course how long the carbon will work depends on how dirty the water is you're filtering. When the water being filtered finally slowly starts to have a regular water taste (instead of "no taste" that charcoal filtering provides), the charcoal is reaching it's adsorption limit. The ceramic, however, continues to work and can be cleaned off with a soft cloth or Brillo pad over 100 times. The number of time you will need to clean the ceramic filter can be extended by pre-filtering using the larger, 1 micron PRE-FILTER BAG that is included with this kit. The ceramic filter however is the one that does the needed job of removing protozoa, bacteria, and other "wigglies" and pathogens from the water. The larger, 1-micron, pre-filter bag (size varies from those pictured) that comes with the kit can extend the life of your ceramic filter by removing larger sediment and particles before they would clog the ceramic filter. (note it performs at 1-micron about 80% of the time)

The Ceramic globe filter is manufactured to meet:
